FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS OF UNIVERSITAS BATAM AND UNIVERSITAS SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA SIGN MOA TO STRENGTHEN ACADEMIC COLLABORATION

Batam, Universitas Batam – Universitas Batam (UNIBA) and Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) as a strategic step to strengthen cooperation between the two higher education institutions. The activity was held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Universitas Batam.

The event began with remarks from the Vice Rector III of Universitas Batam, Dr. Mohamad Gita Indrawan, S.T., M.M. In his remarks, he expressed his hope that the cooperation between Universitas Batam and Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa would continue to develop and be implemented sustainably.

The event was then continued with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Batam, Prof. Dr. Ramil, S.E., M.S., who emphasized that the success of a cooperation should not be measured merely by the number of MoUs and MoAs that have been signed, but by the extent to which the cooperation can provide a real impact, particularly for students.

According to him, the signing of the MoU and MoA represents a shared commitment that binds both institutions to concretely implement various collaborative programs.

“Our success is not measured by how many MoUs we have, but by how we can create an impact for our students. Through this cooperation, we are committed to working together to implement the programs that have been agreed upon. Hopefully, this cooperation can continue,” said Prof. Dr. Ramil, S.E., M.S.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean II of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Dr. Imam Abu Hanifah, expressed his appreciation for the welcome and hospitality extended by Universitas Batam to the UNTIRTA delegation. He shared that the atmosphere during the visit made them feel not like guests, but rather like family.

“Thank you for the warm welcome. We do not feel like guests, but rather like family,” said Dr. Imam Abu Hanifah.

On the occasion, Dr. Imam Abu Hanifah also conveyed that UNTIRTA is committed to strengthening its international community service programs. Therefore, the cooperation with Universitas Batam is expected to provide an opportunity to develop such collaboration, including through various academic and community service activities.

The signing of the MoA between Universitas Batam and Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa is part of the commitment of both institutions to expand their higher education cooperation network. The collaboration is expected not only to serve as an institutional document, but also to be realized through various concrete programs that support the development of education, research, community service, as well as the improvement of students’ experiences and competencies.

Through sustainable cooperation, Universitas Batam and Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa are expected to strengthen each institution’s capacity while making broader contributions to society.
